The WHY

On March 26th, 2020, India went into a lockdown situation. All of us have experienced the impact of that in different ways. But one of the most affected victims of the pandemic are children who now have no access to schools. While a lot of children have the means for online classes, underprivileged children are still deprived of learning as they have no access to computers or smartphones. These children already have had difficult journeys, having fought the shackles of poverty, child labour, and much more to finally reach school. But the pandemic has reversed their years of struggle. For lakhs of such children, education has come to a halt.

The HOW

When you register for the “Give a Smile” Festival, you and your employees become partners in bringing positive change. The “Give a Smile” festival is spread across a month and culminates in a Finale celebration on October 7th and 8th of October, 2021. There will be over 20 different engagements, competitions and workshops for employees and their families. This is a Smile Foundation initiative under the aegis of DaanUtsav which is held every year from October 2nd to 8th. And this year, this festival will work towards raising funds for the #ShikshaNaRuke campaign whose goal is to raise awareness and support to continue the education of over 50,000 children who are currently enrolled at its centres. It also aims to reach out to another 50,000 children living in difficult circumstances across the country and bring them under the fold of education through the blended learning approach.
